Rory’s first day of school…that was school?

Well, as I posted earlier, Rory had her first day of school last week.  So how did it go?  Let’s just say, I was overwhelmingly surprised.  She seemed to have a blast.  Granted this was the breaking in day of school.  A day she shared with her twin cousins, Toby and Rachel.  She had so much fun that she was reluctant to even go home when Becky went to pick her up.  The teacher said she did very well.  All in all, most of my worries concerning her first day were unfounded, apparently.  All in all, I am pleased and comforted.

The first arts and crafts project she had to undertake was the gruesome task of decorating a cake to look like a school bus.  She then brought it home unmolested long enough for me to see it.  Literally minutes later, she stripped the bus of all of its icing “paint job.”.  I was going to show a picture of the “de-iced” bus, but it was unrecognizable.

Artwork from school

And now we have Rory’s first art from school.  Of course this goes directly to the refrigerator door.  For those of you not versed on the artwork of 3 year olds, this is obviously a school bus.

Wow, toys, games, drawing, and making a cake; man is it too late for me to join this class?

Does her bus painting have eyes? Rachel and Toby got in to a big fight last week because Toby told her that her bus looked like a monster truck. We tried to convince her that was a compliment coming from him. I hope they have as good of a time tomorrow as they did last Wednesday! If they do, then I think the parents can start to rest easier. I am hoping that tommorrow does go as smoothly as their first visit.  I am glad that the twins got to be in her class.  I don't think that the bus was supposed to have eyes, but I am not three, so I naturally do not understand.
